Directorate of Press and Publications
The Directorate of Press and Publications is one of the oldest directorates at the Ministry of Information. In recent years it has experienced important and notable developments both with regard to its organization and the responsibilities entrusted to it.
Those responsibilities include supervision of the enforcement of Bahraini legislation, laws and regulations such as the law regulating the press, printing and publishing, and the Copyright Law, as well as international agreements on copyright and the protection of intellectual property.
The Directorate also seeks to encourage investments in the media field for all audio, video, printed, and electronic products including computer software. The Directorate attaches great importance to the registration of copyright and their follow-up, and supervision of the follow-up and implementation of relevant international treaties. The Directorate continues to participate in and observe many local and international activities, conferences, and seminars.
